Reask TechTalk: Using climate-connected hurricane event set for dynamic risk management

Ian Bolliger

Presented by Ian Bolliger, Principal Quantitative Engineer, this session pairs Reask’s Universal Tropical Cyclone (UTC) model with traditional event catalogues to enable more accurate quantitative risk assessment in a dynamic climate.

Watch this interactive Reask TechTalk if you use catastrophe models to assess tropical cyclone risk and want to better account for climate variability in your view of risk. In this session, we introduce our dynamic, climate-connected stochastic simulation methodology, which enables you to:

  • Quantify increased hurricane risk today relative to historical benchmarks

  • Assess the impact of season-to-season variations in ENSO and sea surface temperature on that risk

  • Measure how a changing climate is influencing your portfolio
