Reask appoints Andy Rice as Chief Growth Officer to scale US expansion

Reask is pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Rice as Chief Growth Officer, US, to further scale our presence across the United States.

Andy brings extensive experience in weather, climate technology, and insurance, helping Reask scale its advanced extreme weather data solutions for hurricane-exposed risks across the insurance and enterprise sectors.

With over two decades of experience at the intersection of climate science, AI, and business growth, Andy has built and scaled weather analytics solutions that bridge cutting-edge science with real-world decision-making.

His combination of technical depth and commercial expertise makes him ideally positioned to drive customer-centric growth and lead Reask’s US expansion.

A seasoned leader in weather, climate, and risk analytics

Before joining Reask, Andy served as Managing Director of Business Solutions at Pelmorex Corp, where he managed a portfolio of B2B weather and climate risk solutions and spearheaded the launch of the company's first Deep Learning weather model for energy trading markets.

Previously Andy spent nearly eight years at IBM, most recently as Partner and Global Lead for Sustainability & Climate Analytics, where he transformed IBM's weather analytics centre into a global sustainability and climate impacts practice.

His leadership was pivotal in scaling IBM’s data-driven consulting capabilities and integrating AI into climate risk and sustainability analytics for Fortune 100 clients

Earlier in his career, Andy held multiple leadership roles at The Weather Company, including General Manager of Insurance and Energy, where he built the company’s insurance vertical and helped establish its Analytics Centre of Excellence. He also played a key role in the partnership that led to IBM’s acquisition of The Weather Company.

Andy began his career at Weather Central, where he led the product and analytics teams and contributed to a successful acquisition by The Weather Channel.

Driving customer-centric growth in the US

At Reask, Andy will lead efforts to further expand access to Reask’s advanced extreme weather data and modelling capabilities in the US market, helping insurers, reinsurers, and enterprises better understand and manage climate-related risks.

Jamie Rodney, CEO at Reask commented:

"Andy is an exceptional talent with extensive experience building and scaling weather and climate technology solutions across multiple sectors. His unique combination of extreme weather expertise and deep understanding of how businesses, from insurers to enterprises, use weather data to manage risk positions him perfectly to drive our US expansion. Andy's track record of scaling practices and launching innovative products will be key in delivering value and maximising our product-market fit as we grow our US operations."

Andy commented on his appointment, saying:

"We’re entering an era where advances in AI are transforming how we understand and predict extreme weather. The implications for global resilience, especially in hurricane and climate risk, are profound. I’m thrilled to join Reask, a world leader in applying AI to the science of catastrophe modelling, and to help bring this next generation of insight and precision to insurers, reinsurers, and beyond.
